How about a little inspiration in honor of the husbands-to-be out there!? I created this unique bachelor party invitation suite for an editorial shoot that took place in Norfolk, VA for the restaurant, Supper Southern Morsels.

The shoot was styled to be an upscale version of a men’s bachelor party with a moody theme that incorporated textures of leather, wood and metal. I brought design elements from the shoot into the flay lay styling for these suite images. The cigar and magnolia leaves, along with the leather pieces, help to add the perfect southern touches.

This suite was designed to bring out the best elements of the shoot. From the leather outer envelope to the copper metallic liner and dark navy inner envelope. It’s not often I get to design a stationery suite geared towards a male only event which made this one extra exciting because it has such a classy feeling to it.

I wanted it to have old southern charm but still keep the masculine design elements. I mixed a more feminine calligraphy style for the addressing with the bold, sans serif font choice of the main square invite and rsvp card.

Vintage stamps were added to the inner main envelope that carry through the suite’s color themes and have whimsical, outdoorsy artwork on them. The leather pieces are all handmade to specification by a local Norfolk, VA craftsman. They include an outer main envelope, an invite band and a place card.

Finally, I chose a letterpress printing process with a dark navy blue ink for the invitation itself and the RSVP card. Both are finished off with a metallic copper edging process and pressed on 600 gsm white cotton paper. It was important that the invite card and rsvp card have a strong typographical presence but an overall simple layout. With all the other elements in this suite I wanted the cards to make a bold, but classic statement.
