I had the chance a few weeks ago to work with Angela Elise Photography and have her shoot some of my flat lay / still life styling projects on some new styling surfaces I had just gotten. I’ve been dying to try these out.
The Sage Green Velvet mat below is from Locust Collection. It has a rich earthy tone. It’s one of her single sided mats and I do have to say I think I’m a bigger fan of their double sided options because the extra thickness helps with keeping it flat for shooting and it rolls up much easier. The creamy white mat is one of their wool options.
This Still Life Product Styling inspiration below is all about heavy floral elements and fine art designs. I used some gorgeous vintage letters Angela Elise provided and dried insects to create unique details and flow within some of the different flat lay shots.
